As the holiday season approaches, it’s time to embrace the magic and joy that come with it. From family traditions to festive outings, there’s so much to cherish during this special time of year. So, grab a cozy blanket, a warm cup of cocoa, and let’s dive into my top 10 favorite things to do at Christmas time!

Going to Holiday-Themed Shows
Kicking off my list at number ten is attending holiday-themed shows! Whether it’s the spectacular Radio City Christmas Spectacular, local theater productions, or delightful vocal groups, these performances bring the spirit of the season to life. The dazzling lights, festive music, and joyful atmosphere create unforgettable memories for the whole family.

Visit Santa Claus
Coming in at number nine is the timeless tradition of visiting Santa Claus! There’s something magical about seeing the jolly old man in red, whether at the mall, a local event, or even a holiday market. Watching kids light up as they share their Christmas wishes is a heartwarming experience that reminds us all of the joy and wonder of the season.

Family Christmas Movie Nights
At number eight, we have family Christmas movie nights! Gathering around the TV to watch holiday classics is one of my favorite traditions. From heartwarming tales like “Klaus” to family favorites like “Home Alone,” the laughter and love shared during these cozy evenings are what the season is all about. Don’t forget the popcorn and hot cocoa!

Driving Around to See Christmas Lights
Sliding into the seventh spot is the beloved tradition of driving around to see Christmas lights! Piling the family into the car, sipping on hot chocolate, and marveling at the dazzling displays is a simple yet magical way to soak in the holiday spirit. Whether it’s a neighborhood competition or a professional light show, the festive glow will leave you with a warm heart and a big smile.

Christmas Sing-Along at Church
At number six, there’s nothing like a Christmas sing-along at my church! Joining the community to sing beloved carols and festive hymns fills the air with joy and togetherness. The sense of camaraderie and the beautiful music create a heartwarming atmosphere that truly captures the essence of Christmas.

Go to Disneyland
Coming in at number five is a trip to Disneyland! Experiencing the park during the holiday season is like stepping into a winter wonderland. From the festive decorations to the enchanting holiday-themed rides, the magic of Disney shines even brighter at Christmas. It’s a joyful experience that will create cherished memories for everyone in the family!

Picking Out Thoughtful Gifts
At number four, I love the tradition of picking out thoughtful gift for loved ones. Black Friday shopping might be hectic, but finding that perfect present for someone special is worth it. The smiles on their faces when they unwrap your carefully chosen gift make all the hustle and bustle worthwhile. Plus, shopping together can be a fun bonding experience!

Go to a Tree Lighting
Sliding into the third spot is attending a tree lighting ceremony! Whether it’s a local mall event or the iconic Rockefeller Center tree lighting, these celebrations are filled with joy, music, and a sense of community. Watching the tree come to life with twinkling lights is a moment that truly encapsulates the spirit of the season.

Pick Out an Annual Christmas Ornament at Hallmark
At number two, there’s the delightful tradition of picking out an annual ornament at Hallmark with my family. Choosing a special ornament that represents the year’s memories is a heartwarming way to commemorate the holiday season. Each year, as we hang it on the tree, we reminisce about the moments that made that year special.

Hanging Christmas Lights/Decorating the Outside of the House
And finally, taking the top spot is the joyful act of hanging Christmas lights and decorating the outside of the house! There’s something magical about transforming your home into a festive display. Whether you go all out with an elaborate light show or keep it simple with a few decorations, the sense of pride and joy you feel as you step back to admire your handiwork is unbeatable.
And there you have it—my top 10 things to do at Christmas time! Each of these activities brings a sense of joy, connection, and warmth that makes the holiday season truly special. So, as you embark on your festive adventures, embrace the magic, create cherished memories, and remember that it’s the little things that make this time of year so wonderful.
Wishing you all a merry and magical holiday season! Until next time, keep counting down those days and spreading the joy of Christmas wherever you go!
Danny
