Hello, Disney lovers! It’s The Dapper Danielle here, one of the hosts of your favorite Disney podcast, Disney Countdown, and I’m back with a list that will elevate your next Disney park experience to legendary status. I’ve been to Disney parks more times than I can count (and yes, I do have a favorite churro cart), and over the years, I’ve learned a few things that can truly help you navigate the magic with a little more ease and a lot less stress. So grab your Mickey ears and get ready for my top 10 Disney Parks tips, tricks, and hacks!

10

Don’t Bring Problematic Family Members into Disney. Protect Your Peace!

First things first, let’s get real. The Disney parks are magical, yes, but they can also be exhausting, overwhelming, and sometimes… chaotic. If you’ve got family members who will make you feel more stressed than excited (you know the type), it might be time for a little tough love. Disney is about FUN, so make sure you’ve got people around who can roll with the magic and keep the peace. A trip to Disney is too precious to waste on drama! If you can, plan a getaway with those who will bring the vibes up, not down.

Know How Long You Should Plan on Staying. Plan Ahead!

A quick weekend? A whole week? The duration of your stay at Disney parks should be based on your energy level, how much time you need to experience everything, and of course, how much you want to splurge on churros. If you’re aiming to hit both parks and still have time to relax, I’d recommend at least 4-5 days. Anything less, and you’ll be running from one attraction to another in a haze of pixie dust. Know your limits and plan accordingly, so you’re not too exhausted to enjoy the magic!

8

Use My Disney Experience App to Rule Your Day. Seriously.

You may have heard of the My Disney Experience app (if not, stop what you’re doing and download it now!), and let me tell you, this little app is a game changer. It’s your one-stop shop for everything Disney—from checking wait times and booking FastPasses (when available) to reserving dining spots and tracking your itinerary. You can also use it to keep your park tickets handy, and, yes, order food in advance via Mobile Order. Trust me, if you don’t use the app, you’re missing out on some serious Disney wizardry.

7

Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique Reservations Are a Must for Your Little Royals

If you’ve got a young prince or princess in tow, the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique experience is a must. But here’s the thing—don’t wait until you get to the park to try and make a reservation. This spot is extremely popular and books up fast, especially during peak seasons. The magic starts with a reservation, so be sure to book at least 60 days in advance (trust me, the little ones will thank you later when they’re transformed into royalty).

6

Don’t Let the Clouds Rain on Your Parade. Literally.

Oh, the weather in Florida. One minute, it’s sunny, and the next minute, it’s pouring. But don’t let a little rain ruin your day! Some of the best Disney moments happen during a downpour. Embrace it! Grab a poncho (or just embrace the soggy socks for the day) and keep going. Many rides still operate in the rain, and the crowds often thin out when it rains, meaning shorter wait times for you. Bonus: rainy days at Disney can actually be magical, with fewer people and the air smelling just a little bit fresher.

5

Go to the Parks During the Holiday Season, Not on the Holiday

As much as I love the idea of celebrating Christmas at the Magic Kingdom on December 25th, don’t go on the actual holiday. The crowds are intense, and the wait times are insane. Instead, plan your Disney trip during the holiday season, but not on the holiday. The parks are decorated beautifully in advance (hello, giant gingerbread houses and sparkling lights), but you can avoid the chaotic holiday crowds. Trust me, it’s a magical experience with way less stress!

4

Make Reservations at Hotel Restaurants

Yes, it’s super fun to eat in the parks (hello, Mickey-shaped waffles), but don’t sleep on the hotel restaurants. Disney resorts offer amazing dining experiences that can be both delicious and less crowded than park eateries. If you’re staying at a Disney resort, make reservations for their signature restaurants ahead of time. Whether you’re at Ohana, Chef Mickey’s, or California Grill, Disney hotels have some of the best food in the whole resort. Pro tip: book breakfast at a resort, then head to the park afterward—it’ll save you time and money!

3

Don’t Rely on Crowd Calendars—They’re Just a Guideline

Crowd calendars can give you an idea of when the parks might be busy or slower, but they’re not the end-all-be-all. Just because a calendar says a park is going to be less crowded doesn’t mean you won’t hit a huge crowd. I’ve learned to expect the unexpected—sometimes, those “slow” days end up being crazy, and sometimes you’ll find the park unexpectedly quiet. It’s Disney! Magic and chaos go hand in hand. Be prepared for anything!

2

Don’t Watch Fireworks from the Middle of Main Street

Look, we all love fireworks (who doesn’t?), but if you’re hoping to have a stellar view of the nighttime show, don’t settle for the middle of Main Street. Sure, it’s iconic, but the crowds are ridiculous, and the view is often blocked by the enormous castle. Instead, head to spots like the Hub Grass (the grass area in front of the castle) or Liberty Square for a less crowded view. For a truly unique experience, try watching fireworks from Galaxy’s Edge in Disneyland—you’ll get a whole new perspective on the show!

1

Hydrate, Hydrate, Hydrate

I know, I know—this one seems basic, but trust me, it’s essential. The Disney parks are huge, and you’ll be walking a lot (and sweating even more), so drinking water is your #1 hack for surviving the day. I always bring a reusable water bottle and take advantage of the free water refill stations scattered throughout the parks. You can also ask for a free cup of water at any quick-service restaurant. Staying hydrated will keep you energized, prevent those afternoon headaches, and help you avoid the dreaded Disney burnout. Your future self will thank you.

And there you have it—my top 10 Disney Parks tips, tricks, and hacks to make your trip feel like pure magic. These little nuggets of wisdom will help you navigate the parks like a pro, avoid some common pitfalls, and ultimately have a more relaxed and enjoyable experience.
